Vancouver economics and the issue of affordable rent puts pressure on an ever broadening range of people.  I have observed in the Main St. corredor that as housing prices have gone up, mortagages go up, and rent goes up too.  The economic status of renters in our area has changed.  As this article by Monte Paulson for the Tyee illustrates, there is an ever increasing population of vulnerable renters in our city.
