Mark Driscoll has a great post on the variety of disguises “potential” leaders take on when a new church is starting. Church planters would do well to take note of these; I’ve met many of them before. The discernment required is a bit nerve-racking. As well its good to note in this article that Mark is not saying that these “potential” leaders are not of worth in the kingdom; rather he is saying that for the model of church you are pursuing it is essential that you use discernment in regards to who you empower for “oversight” in a new congregation. Good thoughts and wise counsel.
