This Wednesday is the 4th Wednesday Prayer & Coffee House at Cityview. It is an experiment in creating space for worship, prayer, and gathering that seeks to uncover what God is doing IN the people of Jesus. I know lots of different groups have worked at this through the years. So have we and this another run at it. I’ve been praying the following prayers from the “Commitments of the Punjab Prayer Union” inspired by the prayer life of John Hyde in 1904 for sometime now, and feel that God is stirring up a holy discontent in some of us. The commitments are below. Hope you can join us at 7 PM.
1. Are you praying for quickening in your own life, in the life of fellow workers, and in the church?
2. Are you longing for greater power from the Holy Spirit in your own life and work, and are you convinced that you can not go on without this power?
3. Will you pray that you may not be ashamed of Jesus?
4. Do you believe that prayer is the great means for securing this spiritual awakening?
5. Will you set apart one half-hour each day as soon after noon as possible to pray for this awakening, and are you willing to pray till the awakening comes?
